As we have dicussed in the previous article, Backgammon is a game of ability and pure luck. The aim is to shift your chips carefully around the board to your inner board while at the same time your opposition moves their chips toward their inner board in the opposing direction. With competing player chips moving in opposing directions there is going to be conflict and the need for particular techniques at specific times. Here are the last two Backgammon techniques to finish off your game.
The Priming Game Strategy
If the aim of the blocking strategy is to slow down the opponent to shift her chips, the Priming Game strategy is to completely barricade any activity of the opposing player by building a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The competitor’s pieces will either get hit, or result a damaged position if he at all attempts to leave the wall. The trap of the prime can be setup anywhere between point two and point eleven in your board. Once you’ve successfully built the prime to prevent the movement of the opponent, your opponent does not even get a chance to roll the dice, that means you move your checkers and roll the dice again. You’ll be a winner for sure.
The Back Game Tactic
The goals of the Back Game technique and the Blocking Game technique are very similar – to harm your opponent’s positions with hope to improve your chances of succeeding, but the Back Game tactic utilizes seperate techniques to do that. The Back Game strategy is commonly employed when you’re far behind your opponent. To participate in Backgammon with this strategy, you have to hold two or more points in table, and to hit a blot late in the game. This strategy is more difficult than others to employ in Backgammon seeing as it requires careful movement of your checkers and how the chips are moved is partially the outcome of the dice toss.
