As we dicussed in the previous article, Backgammon is a game of talent and pure luck. The goal is to shift your pieces safely around the board to your inside board and at the same time your opposition moves their chips toward their inner board in the opposite direction. With opposing player pieces heading in opposing directions there is bound to be conflict and the requirement for particular strategies at particular instances. Here are the last two Backgammon strategies to complete your game.
The Priming Game Tactic
If the aim of the blocking plan is to hamper the opponents ability to move their pieces, the Priming Game tactic is to completely block any activity of the opponent by creating a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The competitor’s chips will either get bumped, or end up in a bad position if she at all attempts to leave the wall. The ambush of the prime can be established anywhere between point 2 and point 11 in your half of the board. Once you have successfully assembled the prime to prevent the movement of your opponent, your opponent does not even get a chance to roll the dice, and you shift your checkers and roll the dice yet again. You’ll be a winner for sure.
The Back Game Technique
The goals of the Back Game tactic and the Blocking Game plan are very similar – to hurt your opponent’s positions in hope to boost your odds of winning, but the Back Game strategy uses alternate techniques to do that. The Back Game technique is often utilized when you are far behind your competitor. To participate in Backgammon with this tactic, you have to control 2 or more points in table, and to hit a blot late in the game. This plan is more challenging than others to employ in Backgammon seeing as it requires careful movement of your checkers and how the pieces are moved is partially the outcome of the dice toss.
