As we dicussed in the last article, Backgammon is a casino game of ability and good luck. The aim is to shift your pieces carefully around the game board to your home board while at the same time your opponent shifts their chips toward their inside board in the opposing direction. With opposing player checkers heading in opposing directions there is going to be conflict and the need for specific strategies at specific instances. Here are the last 2 Backgammon strategies to complete your game.
The Priming Game Tactic
If the goal of the blocking tactic is to hamper the opponents ability to shift his chips, the Priming Game strategy is to completely barricade any movement of the opponent by building a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The competitor’s pieces will either get hit, or end up in a bad position if she at all tries to leave the wall. The ambush of the prime can be setup anyplace between point 2 and point 11 in your game board. Once you’ve successfully constructed the prime to stop the movement of your opponent, your opponent does not even get to toss the dice, and you move your pieces and roll the dice again. You will be a winner for sure.
The Back Game Plan
The goals of the Back Game strategy and the Blocking Game plan are very similar – to hurt your competitor’s positions in hope to boost your odds of succeeding, but the Back Game technique relies on different techniques to do that. The Back Game tactic is frequently used when you’re far behind your opponent. To participate in Backgammon with this tactic, you need to hold 2 or more points in table, and to hit a blot late in the game. This strategy is more complex than others to employ in Backgammon because it needs careful movement of your chips and how the checkers are moved is partly the outcome of the dice roll.
